Maggie Perry aka Magdalena Perry, is a 15-year old home school student who lives near Nashville, Tennessee with her mom and dad and her 11 fur babies: 4 dogs, 3 cats, a rabbit, a gecko, a rat, and a hamster. She says when you first meet her, she might seem shy and a bit awkward because she has Asperger’s. However, Maggie quickly asserts that Asperger’s has never and will never define her or hold her back. She feels that all people who have a disability of any kind should be able to achieve their dreams.
Maggie has been singing since before she can remember. As a little girl she told people that the angels taught her to sing. Maggie has sung and played the piano at venues throughout Middle Tennessee and beyond, including restaurants, churches, theatrical productions, shopping centers, parks, fairs, and several other events. She has also performed with the Nashville Children’s Choir for seven years and with her church choir for six years. In 2019, Maggie had the opportunity to participate in an entertainment showcase for singing and acting in Los Angeles as well as an international choral festival in Costa Rica.
Maggie has appeared in a few music videos. Two of these featured her solo vocal performances of “Amazing Grace” and “Monsters” that conveyed important messages about bullying, teen suicide, and the power of friendship and God’s Grace. She also did a music video of “O Holy Night” this past Christmas. Her work caught the eye of Pepper Jay, a prominent media producer, who then asked Maggie to be the lead singer for the theme song in a new educational television series, “Human Entities”. Since then, Maggie has worked with Ann and Randy Dorman to produce her first CD album of Christian songs entitled “How Great They Art.” You can listen to more of her music and performances on her YouTube channel: Maggie Perry’s Music
Although singing and playing the piano are Maggie’s primary passions, she has many other interests, such as acting. She has performed in several local productions, including the role of Wendy in Peter Pan the Musical. Maggie has also entertained as various horror characters in two different haunted attractions. These efforts led to her developing a love and a real talent for SFX and glamour makeup. In what spare time she has, Maggie also enjoys dancing and creating visual art, which includes painting, wood burning, and other genres.
In the future, Maggie sees herself recording and producing more songs and videos as well as increasing her base of followers and YouTube subscribers. She would also like to pursue modelling and expand her acting career. Overall, Maggie wants to have fun while making a positive difference in people’s lives through her performances. Most importantly, though, she wants to develop a music ministry whose goal is to spread God’s Message of peace, hope, and love. Maggie is truly on the way to achieving her dreams.
