This episode of ActorsE Chat features four fast rising British acting talents in LA hand picked by BAFTA as the best up and comers: Chloe Farnworth, Cameron Moir, Declan Michael Laird, and Charlotte Rothwell.
Chloe Farnworth was born in Herefordshire and brought up home schooled. She started acting in theatre from a young age and got her first part playing “May” in Sam Shepard’s Fool for Love, which had a run at The Tristan Black Theatre in London.Chloe trained at The Central School of Speech and Drama in London and soon started to make her mark in film. She landed her first leading role at the age of nineteen in the indie feature film, The Watch. Since then, she has constantly been working in film and is now based in Los Angeles, having just completed filming her first US feature film, Bigger Than The Beatles. She has also been cast to play “Molly” in US indie feature film Steps directed by award-winning Pascual Sisto, as well as being cast to play one of the leading roles in the indie feature The Human Bid filming in Spain later this year.
Cameron Moir is an Actor, Writer and Producer whose professional work includes performances on stage, television, and in feature films. Moir graduated from the prestigious Stella Adler Studio of Acting where he learned to perfect his method acting techniques. Cameron has starred along side such talents as Liam Neeson, Michelle Dockery and Sophie Kennedy Clark. Cameron had his LA Debut in the world Premiere of Josefina Lopez’s (Real Women Have Curves) play Hungry Women. The LA TIMES said “Cameron Moir’s Le Coq Rouge squeeze are representative examples of a wonderful ensemble”. He just wrapped a Short Film named Desire with Johnny Knoxville and has numerous upcoming roles. He is Producing three Web Series one of which being his own Englishman In LA which won several Awards at The LA Web Series Festival. Cameron is honored to be part of the BAFTA Los Angeles Newcomer Program and is grateful to be mentored by such an iconic organization.
Declan-Michael Laird grew up in a small village on the outskirts of Glasgow, Scotland. Growing up he was concentrated mostly on soccer playing from the age of 7. Once Declan-Michael left high school at 16, he signed a 2 year contract with his local professional side and juggled his time between soccer and his college course in Television Production in which he received a HNC qualification. It was at the age of 17 that Declan-Michael got himself into acting after securing a place in a showcase program in Los Angeles, shortly after this he secured his first television role and several short films while back in Britain. Since August 2011 he has been studying at The Stella Adler Academy Of Acting in Los Angeles on scholarship. Declan-Michael’s other passion of Soccer still plays a major part in his life as he follows his favorite team as much as he can while located in Los Angeles.
Charlotte Rothwell was born in the town of Southport in North-West England and started acting at 4 years old. She competed regularly in the Liverpool Performing Arts Festival, where she won the Actress of the Year award three times for her performances in acting and Shakespeare. Charlotte experienced tragedy in 2006 when her stepfather passed away in a drowning accident in the Maldives on 14th February, which further encouraged her to seize every day and turn her love for acting into a career. She arrived in Los Angeles in 2010 to study with the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Hollywood, from where she graduated in May 2012. Shortly after, she landed the lead role in the independent thriller ‘Senoa’. In 2013, Charlotte was named as one of BAFTA-Los Angeles’ Newcomers of the Year- something she considers as one of her proudest achievements.
