Do you love the sounds of the 70’s?Do you long for Abba? Do you miss wearing your funky flares and silver platform boots? Well you’re in luck. Now you can indulge in the nostalgia by heading to The Actors Forum Theatre in Noho and transport yourself back to the free loving year of 1979, to watch four comical actors in the original, new show, Polyester, the Musical. This is a play to lift your spirits, keep your feet tapping and enjoy some hilarious dialogue. With lyrics and music by Phil Olson and Wayland Pickard, the musical is a story of The Synchronistics, an over-the- hill ABBA wannabe group, who re-unite to perform at a ‘save the public access’ TV Station telethon. Re-united 20 years later, after their days of fame and smash hits in the 70’s, we discover four individuals who were driven apart by lies and deceit. Now, trying to save a public access TV station, we discover a dysfunctional group trying to overcome their differences and find love again, through a mix of contagious music, finely choreographed dances and witty repartee.
This show will take you back to the swinging 70’s, and you’ll hardly be able to control your urge to get up onstage and do “The Funk Train!”
